Lando Norris Tops Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice
The British driver has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the previous five race weekends.
Lando Norris just pipped fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the dying seconds of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The British racer, who took the championship lead from his teammate by a single point after winning in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Until that point, Piastri had been the leading McLaren during the running before sprint qualifying scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, sitting with a 36-point deficit Norris, finished in P17 as his Red Bull team ran a alternative strategy.
His teammate Yuki Tsunoda was the sole competitor to have an incident, though minor, when he spun at the fourth corner soon after starting.
The Japanese spun out over the exit kerbs before spinning across the gravel trap, and was blessed to escape with just a slight brush of the wall.

The seven-time champion ended the session in P19, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were far ahead of the rest of the field, with the German's car in third, over half a second slower than the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was in fourth, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Sainz.
