Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team after the uproar from his recent interview.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
