Netflix Selects Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
The platform declared this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a version of that character re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the original manga and cartoon version.
The new cast member is joined by multiple fresh additions set to bring the group to the screen, including leader Mr. 0, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though the role is a key figure of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this represents a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
