Performer Rejects Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Feature

The acclaimed actor has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the safety of immunizations and lauds ex- cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a popular book written by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for allegations that the virus was caused by a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

Her writing partner, the executive producer, has penned books with controversial media personality Alex Jones. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the project.

A Strong Denial

The team of the actor have issued a statement strongly denying implications that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.

"Everyone can understand that corruption might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement states. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the global charity reinforces his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

It added that the actor had no hand in the project's editorial content and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.

Major Themes In the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script spoken by Neeson features several strong statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "science has become deeply politicised."
  • Kennedy is shown stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • The narration further attacks Covid lockdowns, saying they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Recent Issues

It includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.

Recently, the political figure instructed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation confirming no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The film finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our story. This is the start of a new chapter."
