Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer

It has been 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story movie was released, establishing the animation giant as a leading animation studio and bringing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.

Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving viewers curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.

Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang

The preview reveals Bonnie — who inherited Andy's toys when he left for college — getting a brand new toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.

Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser avoids is what Woody is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.

Surely, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?

Connections from the Previous Film

Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the badge attached to her outfit.

It is hoped she is remains the driving force among the toys.

Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
